Reversed Lens Photography Studios specializes in fresh, boutique portraiture for every stage in life. Our passion is capturing the emotion inherent in the human experience-- the first days of babyhood, the jubilance of childhood, the awkwardness and anticipation of the teenage years, the sweetness of love and the beginnings of a life together-- and then translating those moments into heirloom-quality art.

Our blog is a combination of all of those moments. We highlight the latest sessions from our portrait and event work, as well as little glimpses into what drives our creativity and passion. Sometimes that's a product or vendor that we're thrilled to have stumbled into, or it might just be moments from our life that we felt compelled to share.

More than anything, we hope that you'll feel our passion: for beauty, even in the most unexpected places, for uniqueness, but most of all for the true, beautiful joy of real life.

Come see your life through a different lens with us today!

Perri and Corey at the Crown Ballroom • Portland Oregon Weddings

Perri and Corey have one of those stories that make me kind of believe in fate: they met in Mexico, on vacation, while they were each with their individual families. They had an instant connection and spent the rest of the time inseparable. But Perri is from Toronto and Corey is from Portland and you’d...

Four questions to ask BEFORE hiring a wedding photographer

(This article is originally from an industry website that featured Mark Greenstone of Majestic Photography. His points were just too perfect not to share.) “Mark,” I ask, pen poised over my notebook, “if I’m looking for a wedding photographer, what questions should I ask?” Mark looks thoughtful. “Couples are mostly asking the right questions,” he...

Perri & Corey’s Waterfront/Eastbank Esplanade Engagement Session

I love the location of our SE Portland studio. It’s right in the midst of the industrial district, with so many fun backgrounds that I can easily walk within a 20 block radius and find something fun! But one of the things that I love best is that the Willamette River is so close. Corey,...

Ron and Lindsey • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

Rob and Ryan photographed Ron and Lindsey’s wedding earlier this month at the McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, one of our very favorite venues. Ryan and Lola • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

It all begins somewhere… • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

We never planned to become photographers. It was just a passion that took us somewhere. That theme, it seems, is true of so much of our story. It all began nearly thirteen years ago when my husband was bold enough to ask me on a date. We had no idea that we would become an...

Erin and Gus • Portland Oregon Engagement and Wedding Photographers

Our associates, Rob and Ryan, will be photographing Gus and Erin’s wedding later this summer and I have to say that I’m a little bit jealous. Gus and Erin are my favorite kind of couple– creative, free-spirited, and fabulously gorgeous. They’re having their ceremony at the Portland Rhododendron Gardens, which is sure to be absolutely...

Maggie and Patrick • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

We met Maggie and Patrick (and Maggie’s awesome mom, Robin) at a wedding show last January, and I completely fell in love with Maggie right there on the spot. She was just so sweet and adorable. And their venue, the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, is one of our favorite venues to photograph. Maggie and Patrick have...

Ross and Nora • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

One of the things that we love about weddings is being a part of the entire day, from the early preparations and anticipation through the last dance and send-off. We often get requests to do smaller affairs and we typically refer them to another photographer because our style is so much more suited to capturing...

Naomi & Chris’ Album Preview

Naomi & Chris had a beautiful wedding at Cannon Beach last summer. Their wedding was the most intimate that we’ve photographed, with only 11 attendees! Their families were lovely and their celebration was so personal and meaningful. Of course, Haystack Rock makes an amazing backdrop for any ceremony! They then had a champagne reception in...
