Reversed Lens Photography Studios specializes in fresh, boutique portraiture for every stage in life. Our passion is capturing the emotion inherent in the human experience-- the first days of babyhood, the jubilance of childhood, the awkwardness and anticipation of the teenage years, the sweetness of love and the beginnings of a life together-- and then translating those moments into heirloom-quality art.

Our blog is a combination of all of those moments. We highlight the latest sessions from our portrait and event work, as well as little glimpses into what drives our creativity and passion. Sometimes that's a product or vendor that we're thrilled to have stumbled into, or it might just be moments from our life that we felt compelled to share.

More than anything, we hope that you'll feel our passion: for beauty, even in the most unexpected places, for uniqueness, but most of all for the true, beautiful joy of real life.

Come see your life through a different lens with us today!

The Hot Spot™: Paper Zone on Grand

It may seem like an obvious love, given that our studio is immediately above Paper Zone on Grand, smack in the middle between them and Rejuvenation Hardware. But I loved them long before we ever opened our studio. I’ve always been a textiles fanatic, paper included, and have wandered and imagined and conspired in this...

Maggie and Patrick • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

We’ll be photographing Maggie and Patrick’s wedding in June at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, just outside of Portland, which I am totally psyched about. I LOVE this venue and can’t wait to capture their day there. But first, we got to photograph what we like to call the dress rehearsal minus the 500 onlookers, aka...

Tamra and Steve • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

We met Tamra and Steve through what seems to be a more and more common mode for us: through work and life. Tamra is a fabulous graphic designer who helped us re-brand RLP last fall, and so it was a natural progression for us to photograph her wedding when she and Steve decided to make...

Steve & Tamra e-session

We met Tamra last fall when we decided to revamp our entire studio image. She updated our logo, completely redesigned our website, and through the entire thing did a fabulous job and became a great friend. So when Steve proposed (on an incredibly romantic trip to NYC), we immediately accepted the offer to photograph their...

TJ and Cherie eSession

We’ll be photographing TJ and Cherie’s wedding later this summer at the absolutely picturesque Green Villa Barn in Independance, Oregon. I’m terribly excited; the last time we were there was to attend the wedding of one of my childhood friends and I remember thinking, “I would LOVE to photograph here someday.” And I can’t imagine...

Viktoria and Justin e-session

Viktoria and I were friends back in the days of junior high and high school, but then we graduated and went our separate ways. Then, through the miracles of that social networking tool called Facebook, we “ran into” each other. I found out that she was getting married, she found out that I’d pursued my...

Scott and Michelle

Scott and Michelle were married in a beautiful winter wedding. Their ceremony was at Rose Park Presbyterian Church and then they followed with a ceremony up at one of our favorite historic sites, Fort Vancouver. The entire day was lovely and intimate, with friends coming from varied locations to celebrate the happy couple (including one...
