Reversed Lens Photography Studios specializes in fresh, boutique portraiture for every stage in life. Our passion is capturing the emotion inherent in the human experience-- the first days of babyhood, the jubilance of childhood, the awkwardness and anticipation of the teenage years, the sweetness of love and the beginnings of a life together-- and then translating those moments into heirloom-quality art.

Our blog is a combination of all of those moments. We highlight the latest sessions from our portrait and event work, as well as little glimpses into what drives our creativity and passion. Sometimes that's a product or vendor that we're thrilled to have stumbled into, or it might just be moments from our life that we felt compelled to share.

More than anything, we hope that you'll feel our passion: for beauty, even in the most unexpected places, for uniqueness, but most of all for the true, beautiful joy of real life.

Come see your life through a different lens with us today!

Introducing the Charlotte’s Weddings consultants

I’m so excited to finally unveil these photos! This project has been a few months in the making: Krysta McLaughlin of Charlotte’s Weddings and More approached us and asked us to update their “Meet The Consultants” page. We tossed around a bunch of ideas and knew that we’d struck gold when we decided to photograph...

Oh, how I love clients who love us…

We’ve been working on a project with Charlotte’s Weddings, which we’ll be unveiling this week. We’ve been having a fabulous time with them and so I was thrilled to read this on their blog: I recently had the privilege of working with Emma and Will of Reversed Lens Photography. We had pictures taken of our...

The Hot Spot™: Paper Zone on Grand

It may seem like an obvious love, given that our studio is immediately above Paper Zone on Grand, smack in the middle between them and Rejuvenation Hardware. But I loved them long before we ever opened our studio. I’ve always been a textiles fanatic, paper included, and have wandered and imagined and conspired in this...

Naomi & Chris’ Album Preview

Naomi & Chris had a beautiful wedding at Cannon Beach last summer. Their wedding was the most intimate that we’ve photographed, with only 11 attendees! Their families were lovely and their celebration was so personal and meaningful. Of course, Haystack Rock makes an amazing backdrop for any ceremony! They then had a champagne reception in...

Join us at the Mom Shop!

It’s almost time again for the Mom Shop! This annual event is sponsored by Mamapreneurs, Inc., a local collective of businesses that are at least 50% mom-owned. The last Mom Shop was so vibrant and inspiring that I couldn’t wait to be a part of it– so much so that I joined the planning committee!...

Vendor spotlight: Ink and Peat

I love the smell of a floral shop. The combination of all of the organic smells is like aromatherapy for me. But what I love even more is finding a shop that has a style as inspiring to my senses as that first wave of organic goodness. And Ink & Peat, in North Portland, is...
