Reversed Lens Photography Studios specializes in fresh, boutique portraiture for every stage in life. Our passion is capturing the emotion inherent in the human experience-- the first days of babyhood, the jubilance of childhood, the awkwardness and anticipation of the teenage years, the sweetness of love and the beginnings of a life together-- and then translating those moments into heirloom-quality art.

Our blog is a combination of all of those moments. We highlight the latest sessions from our portrait and event work, as well as little glimpses into what drives our creativity and passion. Sometimes that's a product or vendor that we're thrilled to have stumbled into, or it might just be moments from our life that we felt compelled to share.

More than anything, we hope that you'll feel our passion: for beauty, even in the most unexpected places, for uniqueness, but most of all for the true, beautiful joy of real life.

Come see your life through a different lens with us today!

Erin and Gus • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

I love the hub-bub of weddings, the nervous anticipation, the beautiful moments when two become one. Erin and Gus’ wedding was one of those days when everything comes together perfectly, in all it’s imperfectness, to create a truly beautiful couple. Erin had been quite sick leading up to the wedding with some flu bug or...

Megan • Jesuit Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Pictures

We’ve been getting to know Megan for about a year now. First we did a session with she and three of her best girlfriends, who have all known each other since attending the French American School together. Then she decided to be our senior rep for Jesuit High School this year and we were thrilled....

Hailey’s Simchat Bat • Portland Oregon Family and Event Photographers

Many people are familiar with the Jewish bris, which is performed on the eighth day after a baby boy is born to celebrate his life and give him a name in the Jewish tradition. The tradition that is less well-known is the Simchat Bat, the naming ceremony for little girls. We had the enormous pleasure...

Isabel • St. Mary’s Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

When I met Isabel in our studio and asked her what she wanted, she said, “Something really natural. I’m an artist and I want something that reflects that.” So we ventured out to Sauvie Island, one of our favorite retreats from city life, and photographed her in the beautiful fields and natural areas that dot...

Ron and Lindsey • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

Rob and Ryan photographed Ron and Lindsey’s wedding earlier this month at the McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, one of our very favorite venues. Ron and Lindsey are a really sweet couple, the kind of people that instantly make you feel at ease the moment you meet them. They had a beautiful ceremony in the wedding...

Charlton Family • Portland Oregon Family & Child Photographers

We met the Charltons nearly two years ago, and since then all of our lives have taken some interesting twists and detours. But every once in a while we’d be in contact and Dara would say, “I really want you to photograph my family!” And now, at last, we’ve done just that. And oh, what...

Ryan and Lola • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

It’s rare as a wedding photographer that you get to photograph someone that you know on a deep, personal level. Many of our clients become great friends after the fact but with Lola, our friendship began years ago. I’ve known her family since she was a young girl, and I still remember the moment vividly...

Palmer • Beaverton Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

I’m not entirely sure what I was thinking when I scheduled Palmer’s session… well, yes I did. I was thinking that somewhere in the 90 degree range didn’t sound bad for tromping around town. That was before I knew that the day that we photographed would be the day that we hit our summer high...

Amanda • Jesuit Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

Maybe I shouldn’t admit this, but Amanda was actually the very first person that we ever took senior portraits of… when she was a sophomore! She is such a natural beauty that we borrowed her and pretended that she was a few years more advanced in the school age. The very next day we met...

Ryan & Lola’s First Look • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

Ryan and Lola were married last weekend at the Portland LDS temple, and we’ll have their pictures up soon (I promise, Bethany!) But first I had to post some pictures from their first look. Photography is not permitted inside of the temple due to the sacredness of the ordinances, but Lola really wanted to capture...
