Reversed Lens Photography Studios specializes in fresh, boutique portraiture for every stage in life. Our passion is capturing the emotion inherent in the human experience-- the first days of babyhood, the jubilance of childhood, the awkwardness and anticipation of the teenage years, the sweetness of love and the beginnings of a life together-- and then translating those moments into heirloom-quality art.

Our blog is a combination of all of those moments. We highlight the latest sessions from our portrait and event work, as well as little glimpses into what drives our creativity and passion. Sometimes that's a product or vendor that we're thrilled to have stumbled into, or it might just be moments from our life that we felt compelled to share.

More than anything, we hope that you'll feel our passion: for beauty, even in the most unexpected places, for uniqueness, but most of all for the true, beautiful joy of real life.

Come see your life through a different lens with us today!

Isabel • St. Mary’s Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

When I met Isabel in our studio and asked her what she wanted, she said, “Something really natural. I’m an artist and I want something that reflects that.” So we ventured out to Sauvie Island, one of our favorite retreats from city life, and photographed her in the beautiful fields and natural areas that dot...

Yelp’s Ballroom Bash • Portland Oregon Event Photographers

We’ve been longtime lovers of Yelp. Their tagline “Real People. Real Reviews” to me says it all: it’s a great place to go to get the true story about a business. Sometimes the recommendations are glowing and you’re so glad that it’s a place you know you’ll love. Sometimes, you’re glad that you checked so...

Ballroom Bash, meet the Mini Studio™ • Portland Photo Booth

Yelp’s Ballroom Bash was a killer event (if you really want to hear how much you missed, you can read all of the review here.) and we had a great time adding the Mini Studio™, Reversed Lens Photography’s photobooth, to the mix. Here are a few of our favorite shots from the night. (If you...

Ron and Lindsey • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

Rob and Ryan photographed Ron and Lindsey’s wedding earlier this month at the McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, one of our very favorite venues. Ron and Lindsey are a really sweet couple, the kind of people that instantly make you feel at ease the moment you meet them. They had a beautiful ceremony in the wedding...

Charlton Family • Portland Oregon Family & Child Photographers

We met the Charltons nearly two years ago, and since then all of our lives have taken some interesting twists and detours. But every once in a while we’d be in contact and Dara would say, “I really want you to photograph my family!” And now, at last, we’ve done just that. And oh, what...

Ryan and Lola • Portland Oregon Wedding Photographers

It’s rare as a wedding photographer that you get to photograph someone that you know on a deep, personal level. Many of our clients become great friends after the fact but with Lola, our friendship began years ago. I’ve known her family since she was a young girl, and I still remember the moment vividly...

Celebrating Adoption • Portland Oregon Family Photographers

I was so thrilled to be able to photograph Heather and Tom and their adorable children a few weeks ago! Their session was our first Celebrating Adoption session; we’re in the process of joining this wonderful national organization, which gifts families who bring a little one into their homes and hearts a complimentary portrait session....

Baby Lucy • Portland Oregon Newborn Photographers

Little Luciana, or Lucy as her family calls her and the world will soon know, was a dream baby. Literally, she could not have been more amazing to work with. The day that I photographed her was one of those sweltering summer highs that we’re all trying to forget and through it all, she slept...

Palmer • Beaverton Class of 2010 • Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

I’m not entirely sure what I was thinking when I scheduled Palmer’s session… well, yes I did. I was thinking that somewhere in the 90 degree range didn’t sound bad for tromping around town. That was before I knew that the day that we photographed would be the day that we hit our summer high...

The Ballroom Bash • Portland Oregon Event Photographers

We’re psyched about this event– some of our favorite vendors will be participating (including our favorite cupcakerie, Cupcake Jones) and we’ll have The Mini Studio™ photobooth there in full party force for some crazy mementos of the night. Don of Yelp! puts on some of the most amazing parties we know so this is not...
